  1. What is a hostel?
    Hostels provide budget oriented, sociable accommodation where guests can rent a bed, sometimes a bunk bed,
    in a dormitory and share a bathroom, lounge and sometimes a kitchen. Rooms can be mixed or single-sex, although
    private rooms may also be available.

  2. What does Sugbutel mean?
    Sugbutel is derived from the Visayan word “Sugbu”, the original name of Cebu.

  3. Where is Sugbutel located? How do I get there?
    Sugbutel is located less than 500 meters from SM and near the Cebu Port Area.
    Jeepneys and taxicabs are available to take you to the hotel.

  4. What amenities do you provide?
    The hostel provides bath towels, blankets and bed sheets for a fee. Amenities such as soap, shampoo and dental kit are available for sale.

  5. What is the time of check in / check out?
    Hostel check in time is two in the afternoon (2:00pm), check out time is twelve noon (12:00) the next day.

  6. How much is the discount rate for children? How about senior citizens? Disabled guests?
    Children 0 to 3 years is FREE OF CHARGE, 4 to 6 years old will be charged 50%. Senior citizens and disabled guests
    will receive 20% Discount. To avail of the discount, a valid ID such Senior Citizens’ ID, passport and other IDs must
    be presented upon check in.

  7. How do I make a reservation?

    or email reservations@sugbutel.com. Reservations can also be made through the Sugbutel website.
    Walk-in reservations are also accepted.

  8. What is the hostel’s cancellation policy?
    a. Postponement of bookings to another date or time shall be allowed only if made fourteen (14) calendar days prior to
    the date of arrival and if the accommodation is available on the date of re-schedule.

    b. Cancellation, at the instance of the CLIENT/ENGAGER, shall be valid only if made in writing and refund for a valid cancellation shall only be issued under the following conditions:

    · Cancellation received at least 14 days before the booked date of stay - 90 % of the total amount

    · Cancellation received within 14 days before the booking date - NO REFUND.

  9. What is the mode of payment?
    All transactions should be paid in cash. Guaranteed group bookings may be paid in cash or Manager’s Check.

  10. Do you have facilities for disabled guests?
    Sugbutel offers facilities for disabled guests such as ramps for wheel chairs and railings.
    Toilet facilities for people with disabilities are also available.

  11. Do you allow pets inside the hostel?
    No pets are allowed inside hostel premises.

  12. Is smoking allowed inside the hostel?
    Sugbutel is a non smoking hostel.
